Hi, I'm Emily!

For as long as I can remember I have loved creating and crafting. Right after graduating college I decided I wanted to make a quilt with all of my t-shirts, having no idea how to do it I cut up all of my shirts and started to sew, it didn’t go super well but after taking a quilting class and learning how to make an actual t-shirt quilt I was able to save all my scraps and make the most special quilt. I fell in love with every step of quilting! I have long dreamt about starting So Sunny Quilts, but it wasn’t until now that everything came together to allow me to do so.

I love how longarm quilting can make a beautiful quilt top shine with the addition of the perfect quilting design.  The possibilities are endless when quilting on a longarm. My longarm is a Statler Gammill 26” machine on a 10 foot table. She is named after my Nana, Shirley, who bought me my first sewing machine when I was 12 years old.
